CATALOGUES
LE COLLEZIONI DI PALAZZO DUCALE
From
2000 on has begun the systematic publication of
scientific catalogues of the art works of the
Museum. The project is the concrete outcome of
an agreement subscribed on 24th
January 2000 between the Ministry and the Major
of Mantua; because of that the Soprintendenza
has engaged itself in the valorisation of the
art works of the Town Hall in deposit in the
Palace from 1915.
The
series, called Le collezioni di Palazzo
Ducale, is directed by Giuliana Algeri,
Superintendent for Historical and Artistic Goods
for the provinces of Brescia, Cremona and
Mantova, and Director of the Ducal Palace of
Mantova.
The first volume, I
Marmi Antichi. Rilievi greci
e neoattici,
edited by Federico Rausa, has been published in
September 2000 by Tre Lune ed. and illustrates
the marbles exposed in the Rustica Apartment.
The
second volume, I Dipinti della Galleria Nuova,
edited by Giovanni Rodella, has been published
in 2002 by Tre Lune ed. and illustrates the
altarpieces exposed in the New Gallery.
A third
volume, concerning the marbles recently (2002)
restored and placed in the Exhibition Gallery,
and a fourth one, illustrating the paintings
exposed from August 2002 in the St. Barbara
Gallery, are to be published soon.
A new
guide of the Ducal Palace (Il Palazzo Ducale
di Mantova) has also been edited in 2002, by
Stefano L’Occaso, and published in four
languages (English, French, German and Italian)
by Electa ed.; a shorter version of the same
product is in preparation by the same author.
